Scuola Grande di San Teodoro
The Scuola Grande di San Teodoro was once the headquarters of the eponymous confraternity. Although the building, which was designed by Tommaso Contin, only dates back to the end of the 16th century (1579-1613), the scuola, itself, was founded in 1258. Almost 300 years later, in 1552, it was granted the status of a scuola grande.
The classical façade was added by Antonio Sardi and funded by a wealthy merchant, Giacomo Galli. The pediment is crowned by sculptures of San Teodoro flanked by four angels, all the work of Bernardo Falcone.
