In recent years, I have noticed huge increases in the number of tourists in all three cities, but the negative impact of mass tourism has been greatest in Venice, where many parts of the city have become horribly congested.
Thankfully, la Serenissima is a large place and there are still plenty of charming and secluded corners (which few tourists ever find), waiting to be discovered. It is simply a matter of knowing where to look.
